The Central Networks app needed to give up-to-date information into the hands of their customers in the Midlands.
The App needed the user to find whether the power interruption they were experiencing had already been reported and if so, what the status of the reconnection was. The app was to make communication easier for the customer and also to try to give up-to-date information to the user in an effort to reduce duplicate call volume for the same faults. The App had to be designed to strict brand guidelines.
The App needed to connect to a custom web based system of Central Networks and pass information up-to
and down from the server. It is a secure system so the data needed to be sent securely between the app and
the server.
The app pinpoints the user’s location with a “find me” feature, turns this into a postcode and then checks the
postcode with the live fault reports.
The App has had numerous downloads by many users. It allows them to receive instant information into their hands and saves duplicate calls to the customer service centre. The app also has great safety information on what to do during a power interruption. The App also allows the user to report a fault directly using the phone.
The app has received excellent feedback from both inside and outside Central Networks.
